The study was conducted in Bhinay and Bijainagar tehsils of Ajmer district of Rajasthan which were selected purposively. Four villages from each of these selected tehsil were identified and from each village 20 respondents were selected randomly. Thus, the entire sample consists of 160 respondents from 8 villages among study area. The field survey was conducted to collect information on existing breeding and feeding management practices being followed by Gir cattle owners. The study found that only 37.50% of respondents adopted natural service and 31.25% used indigenous (purebred) under quality of breeding bull. Majority of respondents (96.87%) can detect estrus behaviour and 68.75% of respondents ensured insemination of their cows at an early heat stage. The study also noticed that 65% Gir cattle keepers followed pregnancy diagnosis. Incase of feeding practices, most (58.75%) of the farmers followed group feeding and grazed in fallow/harvested field. 85% of Gir cattle keeper soaked concentrate mixture before feeding to their animals and 90% of cattle keepers fed concentrate mixture to cattle during advanced pregnancy.
