Abstract

The present study was conducted on 100 milk samples (mastitis milk/pooled milk/milk of healthy cattle) obtained directly from dairy farms to screen the extended-spectrum beta-lactamase producing enterobacteriaceae bacteria. Multi-drug resistance profile was also undertaken on these isolates. Results showed the prevalence of these bacteria in milk of the healthy cattle and varied patterns of resistance for commonly used antibiotics in the treatment of animals.
