Abstract
The present postmortem investigation was undertaken to ascertain the cause of death in a one-month-old female buffalo calf. Representative tissue samples were collected during necropsy, fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin, and processed for histopathological examination following standard laboratory procedures. Intestinal faecal samples were subjected to centrifugal sedimentation and flotation techniques for the isolation and identification of parasitic eggs. Helminths recovered from the gastrointestinal tract were preserved and examined morphologically using standard parasitological protocols, including the lactophenol clearing method. Faecal examination revealed the presence of eggs of Toxocara vitulorum, and detailed morphological evaluation confirmed the presence of adult male and female Toxocara vitulorum worms.
