Abstract

The present paper highlights the different constraints perceived by dairy livestock owners in dairy entrepreneurship in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. A total of 120 dairy livestock owners were selected from randomly selected 8 villages of Bikaner and Lunkaransar tehsils of Bikaner district. A list of constraints was prepared and divided in three main categories i.e. Infrastructural and human resources, technical and economic constraints. The finding revealed that majority of the dairy livestock owners (69.17%), (69.16%) and (65.83%) perceived medium level of constraints regarding infrastructural and human resources, technical and economic constraints, respectively. Majority of dairy livestock owners (66.67%) had medium level constraints regarding overall constraints in adoption of dairy management practices. Further, it was found that level of constraints in 3 major aspects viz. economic, infrastructural and human resources and technical constraints had mean score of 0.57, 0.55, 0.54 and ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, respectively. The overall constraint level in the study area was found to be have mean score 0.55.
