Abstract
In dairy animals, the prevalence of coccidiosis was 28.00% overall (native: 35.71%, crossbred: 25.00%, and buffaloes: 22.58%), with a highly significant difference (p<0.01). Eimeria bovis had the highest incidence (25.39%) among the Eimeria species, followed by E. ellipsoidalis (17.23%), E. pellita (13.20%), E. subspherica (12.75%), E. auburnensis (11.0%), E. zuernii (9.01%), E. cylindrica (6.66%) and E. bukidonensis (4.79%). Winter has the highest incidence (p<0.01) among the seasons, followed by summer (27.48) and rainy (20.56%) seasons. The district-level analysis showed that the prevalence of coccidiosis was substantially higher (p<0.05) in Pali District (35.86%), followed by Sirohi (30.00%), Jalore (24.43%), and Jodhpur (22.72%) districts. In native cattle, crossbred cattle, and buffaloes, respectively, the range of positive faecal samples for Eimeria sp. was 800-3700, 500-3100, and 500-2600, with an average of (2340201.1), (2050275.37) and (1740232.47).
