Abstract
In the present study, total of 676 liver samples from sheep were analyzed, regardless of their age, breed, or sex to evaluate the involvement of the liver in tuberculosis. Among these representative samples, 269 liver samples exhibited visible abnormalities and were subsequently subjected to histopathological examinations. Within the 269 liver samples, 6 cases (2.23%) displayed lesions of hepatic tuberculosis. Grossly, the affected livers exhibited numerous miliary nodules well distributed throughout the parenchyma. Microscopically, the observed granulomatous lesions contained a central caseous mass, surrounded by lymphocytes, macrophages, epithelioid cells, and giant cells, all of which are characteristic of tuberculosis.
