Abstract
A total of 140 Brucellosis-suspected goats presented with signs like Abortions in late pregnancy, retained placentas, birth of weak offspring, and reduced milk production were examined and the serum samples were analyzed using RBPT, STAT and ELISA. Out of these, 11 (7.85 %), 13 (9.28 %) and 12 (8.57%) samples were found to be positive for RBPT, STAT and ELISA, respectively. The seropositivity of brucellosis in this region may impose public health significance. As the seroprevalence is high, it is recommended that the goat handlers, veterinarians and veterinary students practice good management and hygiene during handling of goats.
