The present study was carried out on 6874 birth records of Corriedale sheep maintained at the institute’s Mountain Research Centre for Sheep and Goat (MRCSG) over a 49-year period (1969-2017) using a mixed linear model with sire as a random effect and period, sex, and birth type as fixed effects. The overall least squares means were 3.66±0.03, 13.66±0.13, 18.99±0.17, 22.18±0.17 and 25.73±0.21 for birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), six months body weight (6MW), nine months body weight (9MW) and yearling body weight (12MW), respectively. The effect of period and sex was highly significant (p>0.01) on all growth traits under study. The sexual dimorphism (male to female) of 1.04, 1.01, 1.02, 1.06 and 1.05 for BW, WW, 6MW, 9MB and 12MW, respectively was observed in favour of males. All traits presented a decreasing trend over the periods.
