Abstract

The study was conducted on the trachea of adult Pashmina, Bakerwali and non-descript goats (ten each) to demonstrate the histomorphological features of these organs. In the present study, the tracheal mucosa was found to be composed of pseudostratified ciliated columnar type in all three breeds of goats. In the proximal part of the trachea, the epithelium was composed of approximately 6-7 layers of cells, which diminished towards its distal part. In the present study, a total of four cell types could be identified in the tracheal epithelium in all the three goat breeds.
