The overall prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in goat kids was 98.05% with highest percentage of Eimeria spp. (86.34%) followed by strongyle (80%), Strongyloides spp. (37.56%), amphistome (19.02%) and Trichuris spp. (18.05%) was the least. The infection percentage was 100% in summer and monsoon and 96% in winters. These differences were non-significant. Age wise prevalence was significantly higher (P<0.05) in kids of above one month to three months age (99.30%) than that of kids up to one month age (95.16%). No significant difference was seen in different breeds for prevalence of gastro-intestinal parasites. Sex wise prevalence was apparently higher in male kids (98.99%) than that of female kids (97.17%). The infection percentage was also non-significantly higher in kids kept under farm conditions (100%) than that of field conditions (96.46%). Highly significant (P<0.01) difference was observed between mono (10.73%) and mixed infections (87.32%).
